COTTON MILL
An exploratory project on the conditions and machinery of the industrial revolution in a well-preserved English textile mill. Dating from 1784, half of the mill's workforce was made up of pauper or orphaned children – officially called 'apprentices' – who were required to wear these eerily reminiscent red cloaks when not working.
